Brian Rea has spent sixty long, long, long years behind, and in front of, bars, cocktail lounges, restaurants, nightclubs, and some unmentionable places. Bartender at the “400” Restaurant and the “Little Club”, head barman at the “21” Club, and restaurant owner, all in New York City. Bartender at fine restaurants in Florida and California, Corporate Beverage Director at Host International (airports, hotels, restaurants, airline clubs, in-flight beverage service, etc.) for seven and a half years.

On Premise Management Consultant for the On Premise Institute (OPI), Beverage Management Educator at UCLA and Cal Poly Universities. Beverage Management Seminar Instructor for the National Restaurant Association) and the National Licensed Beverage Association (NLBA), Beverage Management Instructor at the OPI Beverage Management School, and a major Brewery, Distillery, Winery On Premise Consultant.

Major restaurant, hotel, airline, casino company Beverage Management Consultant. Department of Defense Beverage Management Consultant, Author, Trade Show speaker, etc., etc. Retired in 2003.

Barchivist for the largest collection of Bartender/Cocktail Recipe Guides and other drink related books in existence, together with extensive ephemera, related trains and trucks, miniature bars, videos, drink menus, artifacts, discontinued brands, artwork etc., which has now been relocated to Munich, Germany.

Currently out of retirement since 2008 and developing the new On Premise Drink Industry oriented website “thebarkeeper.com”, which will be online starting February 15th, 2009.
